Shiny hematite on matrix from Iron County, Michigan.  The shiny surface of this hematite is a trait of the pieces from the Sherwood Mine in Mineral Hills, Mi., just north of Iron River.   I can't say for sure that's where this piece came from, but I suspect it did.
